SEPTA to get $500,000 for Paoli center
U.S. Reps. Jim Gerlach and Joe Sestak will present SEPTA with a federal $500,000 check for the new Paoli Transportation Center tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. at SEPTA`s Paoli Station.
Richard Burnfield, SEPTA`s chief financial officer, will also be on hand, SEPTA said.
The new transportation center will have high-level platforms, new bus facilities, a commuter parking facility, and reconfigured access roads and entrances. There will be a new pedestrian waiting area, ticket office, sidewalks, crosswalks, and a concourse linking inbound and outbound station platforms.
It will be located west of the existing station, which is at North Valley Road and Lancaster Avenue, on SEPTA`s R5 Paoli/Thorndale Regional Rail Line.
The station is an Amtrak stop, and is served by SEPTA bus Routes 92, 105, 204, 205 and 206.
