The Victorville station consists of a platform located southeast of the Victor Valley Transportation Center. Amtrak service to the town began in 1990 and has continued since 1994 with the Southwest Chief.

Named for California Southern Railroad General Manager, Jacob Nash Victor, the town of Victorville was founded in 1895. Originally named Victor, the town’s name was changed to the current one in 1901 by the United States Post Office in order to avoid confusion with a town of the same name in Colorado. Victorville was incorporated in 1962. The town is home to the former George Air Force Base, built in 1941, now known as the Southern California Logistics Airport.
