Main Street Station, an elaborate Renaissance Revival building known for its domed clock tower, is served by Amtrak and local buses. It also houses a Virginia Welcome Center and portions of the building can be rented for events.
A contemporary new depot opened in 2017 as part of upgrades to the busy Chicago-St. Louis rail corridor. The depot is just steps from downtown, which features brick streets, swinging bridges, parks and historic buildings.
